Perfect Potroast

A snow day is a perfect reason for pot roast. And pot roast is the perfect reason to haul out the slow cooker again.

I put the veggies (carrots, onions, potatoes) in first, then the roast (fat side up so it can drizzle down as it cooks). Add a little beef broth or water, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and anything else that strikes your fancy.

Then let it cook on low for 8 hours, while your home smells like pure heaven. Once it’s done transfer the meat and veggies to a plate/bowl/countertop and pull out that crock pot liner you definitely remembered to use. Seriously. Use them.

Pour the delicious, goodness left in the liner to a pot. Add a little flour. And heat while stirring constantly. TaDa you’ve got gravy for that gloriously cooked meat.

The leftovers at work the next day are even better.
